'An army' it is said, 'marches on its stomach,' the same is true for a Troop of Scouts or a Pack of Cubs. Catering for a camp is a very important task and knowing how much food is rwquired to last the duration of the camp is by no means easy or obvious.

The following list of foods and their quantities are listed below to help you get a feel for how much food needs to be bought for each member of the group.

Bread - 1 loaf per day for 6 people
Bacon - 2 rashers per head per meal
Baked beans - 60g per head
Butter/Margarine - 60g per head per day
Cereal - 15-18 servings per 750g box
Milk - 400ml per head per day
Minced beef - 150-180g per head (raw)
Potatoes - 200g per head
Rice - 45-60g per head (uncooked)
