| Brass Monkey Camp 09 |
 |
A cold weekend in January, what better time to go camping. Seven of our Scouts and three young leaders agreed with me, so we booked our places at the Brass Monkey Camp being held at Bonaly Scout Camp.
The Scouts enjoyed an active programme which included lots of team building activities, wide games and a screening of the Italian Job. As night fell, the temperature dropped and ice began to coat the tents. Fortunately, the Scouts survied the icy conditions and carried on with the programme.
For those Scouts who were attending their first Scout Camp, I can safely say that there won't be many colder during your time with the Troop.

| Great Tower - 26/7/2006 to 2/8/2006 |
  |
This year’s Summer Camp was held at Great Tower, near the town of Windermere. A total of 15 Scouts, 3 Explorer Scouts and 3 leaders attended the event.
The theme for the event was The Legend of Zelda. There were three patrols, competing for the Summer Camp Trophy.
The weather was mixed with both sunshine and rain, however, the Troop was able to run an active programme.
The troop participated in a variety of activities, including tree climbing, rifle shooting, tackling the assault course and canoeing on Lake Windermere. We were even treated to a steel drum band during the Campsites 'Start of Summer Celebration'.
The Patrol competition was hotly contested by all of the patrols and each patrol came out on top on at least one individual day. Overall, the competition winners were Kokiri Forest, comprising of Daniel M, Alexander C, Michael R, Andrew M and Gordon M. However, both Outset Island and Ordon Ranch provided stiff opposition and should be congratulated for their efforts. Well done to Kokiri Forest. |
